The spectacular 0-Coast is back! A thing of beauty which has to be heard in the flesh. Come down to our store for a full demo. We have loads in right now, so many in fact that if Gavin had tried to shift the box he would definitely have out his back out again…
Also restocks on the ever popular, massively versatile Maths, Pressure Points and Brains. Morphogene is looming on the horizon so rest assured we will be placing an order for these as soon as they are available!
The Rossum Electro-Music juggernaut powers on! This time with the spectacular Morpheus. We’ve been waiting for this bad boy with baited breath for the bets part of a year, so we’re ever so slightly excited by it’s imminent arrival…
We are taking pre orders now. They should be shipping in the next 2 weeks.
The Morpheus includes over 190 filter configurations. Each configuration is composed of up to 8 complex filters that you can picture as being at the corners of a three dimensional cube. Morpheus gives you the ability to smoothly interpolate between those 8 filters within the cube’s three dimensional space!
Two new XAOC Devices modules are on their way. Belgrad is an all-analog voltage controlled filter module. It has a unique character with 2 resonant peaks to get various frequency responses. Kamieniec is an analog signal processor inspired by phaser effect units from the 1970s. It has four tunable stages and an extra 2 fixed to increase the number of phase shifting notches and offer 2 versions of the mixed signal.
Along with these we have more Batumi coming as well as the much anticipated restock of the Poti expander.
The XAOC Devices range goes from strength to strength!
We’ve just taken our largest MakeNoise shipment yet. This includes the splendid 0-Coast, the obligatory Maths and a number of unique Phonogene amongst several other modules from their range. All of these are here in stock and of course on display at our store for demos. A further shipment of Rene, Rosie, Brains, Pressure Points and Wogglebug will arrive when available in the next couple of weeks. Get stuck in!
We love ALM Busy Circuits Akemie’s Castle. So we’re delighted to be getting our hands on the new Akemie’s Taiko! Akemie’s Taiko is an authentic complete FM synthesis based drum voice created using original Yamaha IC’s. It builds on the same technology used in the mighty Akemie’s Castle but in a more complete triggered voice form featuring both signal generation and envelope shaping.
The PE-1 is a dual band parametric EQ based on the old Tascam Portastudio EQ’s (used by Autechre etc back in the day). It sounds great – Is great to warm up a digital osc, stick in from of a mixer module, use live etc etc.. Also has an extra input with attenuator so can be a simple mixer.
We really like Mannequins here. They have a unique take on things and it’s clear why they are so popular, they just sound really nice and expensive.
This week we’ll get all the good stuff back in – Mangrove, Three Sisters, Cold Mac, Just Friends.
Trust us when we say, everything about these modules is spectacular. Get in before they go sell out again!
This week we see the arrival of Veils and Blinds. Supremely handy utility modules…
The general low-down as follows
Blinds is a 4-channel voltage-controlled signal polarizer. Each channel consists of a polarizer circuit, also known as a four-quadrant multiplier. This circuit acts like a VCA, except that a negative control voltage will cause the output signal to be inverted, instead of being silenced. Blinds’ outputs are daisy-chained, allowing adjacent groups of 2, 3, or all 4 channels, to be mixed together.
Veils provides four VCAs with an adjustable response curve. Veils’ outputs are daisy-chained, allowing adjacent groups of 2, 3, or all 4 channels, to be mixed together.
Mannequins is the Eurorack line of modules by manufacturer Whimsical Raps based New York. The modules take an innovative approach to seemingly standard ideas and Just Friends is no exception. Originally described as a ‘tempo-relative modulation source’ the design centred on LFOs running at musical ratios relating to one another. Just Friends follows the habit of other Mannequins modules by containing multiple, independent functional blocks, driving them with unified controls while providing ‘relational’ elements. This propels the idea of complex interactive systems where small gestures have manifold influence…
Arguably one of the best sequencers in Eurorack. An absolute beast for live performance, but equally well suited in the studio. More coming this week
The STILLSON HAMMER MK II is a 4-track control voltage sequencer for realtime music performance. Four CV/gate tracks directly control your collection of oscillators and percussion. Seven pages of parameters determine your musical performance, edited in realtime with a bank of 16 sliders. A series of hotkeys immediately generate or modify sequences or individualised parameters across all four tracks, with no menu diving whatsoever. Two CV inputs and large manual controls mutate any number of sequence parameters, with programmable modulation amount per step. 32 preset slots are provided for your storage of sequencer data. The keypad, rotary encoder, CV modifiers, LED feedback (on all buttons, sliders, and numerical display) and slider bank work in harmony to allow astonishingly fast music creation across all four tracks, in an ergonomically valid user interface uncommon in modular synthesis. It is possible to quickly generate and meaningfully manipulate a full 4-track sequence with minimal slider interaction.
The new Verbos Random Sampling module is on its way. We have limited numbers from the first run due to arrive next week.
It’s a selection of random voltage sources. 2 fluctuating randoms capable of slowly, varying voltage or sweepable audio noise, each with an uncorrelated random gate output. A two output, up to 6 bit digital stored random voltage source. White, pink and metallic (TR-808 cymbal type) audio noise. A 4 stage analog shift register where each sample and hold can be broken out of the chain to be used separately.
